Filipinos:Ardent Teledrama Viewers

For so many decades, Filipinos never ceased to show their love and passion for teledramas. It is so evident in the influx of local and foreign television drama series that television network offer to their viewers. The mere fact that these shows continue to stay on air and really rate tremendously among other television programs only means that they have constant viewers to maintain its rating and be noticed by the advertisers. As we all know, advertisers are the heart and soul of the television industry. Why teledramas? Filipinos by nature are light hearted persons. They easily empathize. Also, Filipinos' unending battle with poverty dirives them to divert their problems even for a while into watching such series on tv. They would rather make themselves engrossed with the characters' problem than their own problems.
