Pinnochio Parenting

Everyone will agree with me that at one point in their lives, their parents have lied to them or made them believe in some things that are fictitious and nonexistent. There is the ever famous Santa Claus who according to our dear parents visits our house during Christmas Eve just to give his presents to children who have been good for the whole year and no present at all to those kids who have been bad. Actually this white lie made by our dear parents is so popular in the whole wide world. Some parents make it as an excuse or a tool to tame or discipline their children. Our dear parents know for a fact that children are the most vulnerable creatures on earth. They can easily be tricked and fooled. But wait, some psychologists detest the idea of parents telling lies, white or black lies, to their children.Read more.

Death of a Father

It was a typical Sunday morning. I woke up quite late that day. I did my usual chores. I was excited because later that day, I would get to visit my parents and siblings. Visiting my folks is something that I always look forward to. Since I got married sixteen years ago, being with them is something that I enjoy doing. I really miss them a lot especially when we moved to Cavite. It is not so convenient to always visit them often. That day was special because papa was going to have a pre-birthday celebration. His birthday falls on a Tuesday so he decided to hold it on a Sunday. He liked seeing us together.read more.

Bilingual Baby

It is very apparent in any bilingual baby that he develops quite late compare to a monolingual baby. The former can easily utter two or more simple words in his first year. Sometimes the case is much earlier.
Children who grow up hearing to different languages face certain challenges, and also have some advantages. When babies grow up hearing two different languages in about equal amounts. most become fluent in both languages simultaneously. There is no cost in terms of emotional or intellectual delays. For example, they may find it easier to learn certain grammar rules or rules relating to reading and writing. And, of course, they can speak with a wider range of people than children who speak a single language.
Parents must encourage their babies to speak two languages for this will be beneficial on their child when the time comes that the child is send to school.

Filipinos:Ardent Teledrama Viewers

For so many decades, Filipinos never ceased to show their love and passion for teledramas. It is so evident in the influx of local and foreign television drama series that television network offer to their viewers. The mere fact that these shows continue to stay on air and really rate tremendously among other television programs only means that they have constant viewers to maintain its rating and be noticed by the advertisers. As we all know, advertisers are the heart and soul of the television industry. Why teledramas? Filipinos by nature are light hearted persons. They easily empathize. Also, Filipinos' unending battle with poverty dirives them to divert their problems even for a while into watching such series on tv. They would rather make themselves engrossed with the characters' problem than their own problems.

Shoes Clues

Buying new pair of shoes for your baby is quite a task. There are lots of factors to consider when buying shoes for your babies. Top of the list is comfort. When babies are concerned, there are no redeeming qualities if the shoes are not comfortable in the first place. Who cares if the shoes is signature or not. What matters most is the comfort of your baby in wearing that shoes. It all comes down to how the feet feel in them. Second is the style. Babies are already irresistibly cute as they are, but put them in a snazzy outfit and you will find that the gushing level of the people around them can be upped to a crazy degree. Third in the list but definitely the most relevant is the price. There are those who can afford and there are those who are just practical. We all know for a fact that baby's feet grow fast. It is not so wise to spend a fortune on a pair of shoes if it will just be of service to your baby for quite a short time only. Why spend so much on something the baby will wear no more than five times before he or she outgrows them. Then, there is the brand. Most moms insist that they do not really care about brands, but then proceeded to cite some labels as the ones they patronize. However, they are also quick to justify that it is only because these shoes have proven themselves to be worth the investment.

Essays: Why I write

A very stimulating and worth doing activity pops into mymind when my sister-in-law prompted me into blogging. She encouraged me into writing since I am a mass communication graduate. Before I took broadcasting as a major in college, I was a journalism major then. I just shifted into broadcasting because I thought that I was not that effective as a writer.

Sibling Rivalry

In any family, it is inevitable to create feud especially if kins are the culprit. Sibling rivalry is the most common problem of a family consisting of several children. The aggravating factor is usually due to the unfair treatment given to the children by parents and kins. A child who is a victim of sibling rivalry manifests a difference in behavior. Parents should take part in solving this family problem before this leads into something more serious.

Is it easier to raise girls or boys?

Having half a dozen kids is no joke. I have six different children with six different attitudes and behavior to deal with every single day of my life. A very simple query was posted on me which leads me into a deep thinking. I have two boys and four girls. Is it easier to raise girls or boys? I would say girls without sounding feminist here. Aside from the fact that girls are easy to tame and control, I have an easy time to talk with them in any manner that I like.
